Best possession ever

My bicycle is really important to me and I would be absolutely depressed if my lovely bicycle got broken or lost. That would change my whole life.

I use it every day, such as for going to school, to training or to Lakunza, or to have a break at the city. I have this bicycle since 2012 it was a present by my grandparents for Christmas. My bicycle is black and white, and it has a basket on the front. It is really comfortable.

I keep it in the garage but in the street I always put the padlock on, because it would be absolutely terrifying if someone stole it. Moreover, I would have to pay for the bus and I don't like them. I prefer just going on my comfortable bicycle.

Finally, the bad thing about riding the bicycle could be the weather. However, I don't mind I use it even if it snows.

I love my gorgeous bike!

The only thing I would take to a desert island

I have many times thought about what I would take to a desert island. Have you ever thought about it? Well, for me the answer is clear: my teddy bear.

Let's start by describing it. It is quite big, whith big orange ears and two black eyes. It's wearing a yellow suit and its body is white.

The way I got the object isn't special at all. I won it in a fair stall four years ago and it has been special since then. When I look at it I remember myself winning the prize and how happy I felt. Now, thinking about not having my teddy makes me feel sad.

So, in conclusion I would say that my teddy bear has been very important for me through many years and I'm sure it will continue being so for ages.

An important possession for me

Nowadays tablets are used by a lot of people of different ages and it’s taking more and more importance in technology apart from mobile phones, laptops and computers. Are you thinking why it’s important to me? Well, I’ll explain now.

My tablet is made by a factory which is known by everyone, Samsung. It more or less has the size of a book and it’s white and expensive. My parents gave me on my birthdays last year, so it was absolutely amazing.

The tablet has a very big importance because there I’ve got a lot of things like pictures, music, applications and games. So if I lost it I don’t know what I would do.

With this tablet you can do lots of things like browse on the internet, play games and listen to music, for example. In my opinion, that is really good. What do you think about it?

Party Hard

When Lucy woke up in hospital it took her a while to piece together where she was and why she was there. She tried to move, but she couldn't.

She was confused, therefore she immediately asked for her family to be present. She wanted them to explain  why she was there. When they arrived she started asking lots of questions: Why? When? How? While her father was telling her the horrible story, Lucy started remembering.

She remembered that it had been a sunny Friday, and she had met her friends because of Juantxo's birthday. They met in front of the new cinema. Suddenly she realised something: they were going to drink alcohol! She refused to drink, but her best friend Andrea forced her. They went to the beach, and everybody started drinking. Lucy was dizzy and shocked , she was going to faint. Some friends were helping her, and as soon as they noticed that she had fainted, they called the ambulance.

My love, Minnie

Obviously if I was in a fire first I would rescue my mother, my father, my brother and my pet rabbits, Bell and Nait. But if I could rescue something else I am sure that I would take my toy Minnie, which is my most important possession.

Minnie has a very sentimental value for me. She was my first present. My mother always told me that when I was born I was crying all the time but the next day my father came and gave me this toy and from that moment I stopped crying. I suppose that I could live without it but I would prefer not.

LUCY

When Lucy woke up in hospital it took awhile to piece together where she was and why she was there.

Then she started at her sourroundings, realised she was alone and remembered everything she had done. No sooner had she realized what she had done, than she started running as fast as she could with her broken knee.

By the time she was outside, fake policemen had come to where she was and Lucy continued running. Later, she succeed in escaping from the police and as she was opening her front door, she saw a poster on the wall with the face of a girl that was the first thing she had imagined in her mind when she woke  up. Those policemen were looking for the murderer of that girl on the wall... Who could be the murderer?

sports role models

Nowadays people, most of them teenagers, admire people who play different sports like football or tennis.
I think lots of them are good role models but the most famous ones are the worst of them.

To my mind is important to be polite and kind and seem like someone who work-hard in his job because lots of children will admire you and take you as a role model. On the other hand if you don't catch the attention is really difficult to became famous only froe your vocation you must do some crazy things.

Public sportsman should be a good role model to inspire people to be kind and polite people but there are always bad role models who are the most famous ones.

The harbour

When Lucy woke up in hospital it took her a while piece together where she was and why she was there. At first she tried moving her arm which semed to be broken.

Suddenly, arrived her boyfriend Ton and started tellinh her off, he was so furious with her. Lucy was frightened because she didn't remember why was she there, so she asked Ton.

Ton told that last Saturday she had been drinking nonstop and she had got drunk. She hadn't stopped drinking and in the end, she had been in an alcoholic coma. Ton told her that it wasn't funny and please to stop, but as they were in the harbour she had felt into the sea and he had broken her arm.

At last an ambulance came to the harbour and Lucy got into it. While the ambulance was going to the hospital a car crashed with it, but finally they arrived at the hospital helthfully apart from having the arm broken.

The tragic accident

When Lucy woke up in hospital it took her a while to piece where she was and why she was there.
The day before, Lucy had been absolutely overjoyed with her new motorbike. She came out of the garage to have a lap of the city.

One hour later, while she was returning home, she met her best friend Mery who asked her if she could get her to her grandparents' house. They had a brilliant time together. When she had left Mery at her grandparents' house she suddenly realised that she was really late and she had to go home because she was having dinner with her family. She immediately started to ride the motorbike with too much speed and because of that she lost control and finished on the floor.

By the time she fell unconscious she had heard the ambulance siren which at last was coming to pick her up.

Because of this Lucy was in the hospital.

Why am I in the hospital?

When Lucy woke up in the hospital it took her a while to piece together where she was and why she was there.

She remembered that she had had a picnic with her friends on the beach and they had met there at two o'clock. When they were all together, Marta, who was very pretty, saw a cave far away. All of them immediately went into the dark cavern because it had started raining, so they had the picnic in that huge place. When Lucy saw that it was very deep, she wanted to explore it, but she was hungry. Suddenly there was an earthquake and some rocks were fallen and hit Lucy on the head and she became dizzy.

By the time she was groggy, her friends were eating the picnic and Maria realized that Lucy had disappeared. She went rapidly to see where she was and she observed that Manuela was on the floor and around her head there was a pool of blood. Maria quickly phoned the hospital and the ambulance came to take Lucy. And that is why she was in hospital.

Dangerous party

When Lucy woke up in hospital it took her a while to piece together where she was and why she was there.

There was no - body in the room. Suddenly, she realised what had happened. It had been Saturday night, and she had been at a party, with loud music and colourful lights. At first, Lucy was with her friends dancing and having some fun, but they soon started drinking.

By the time the party had ended, they were all drunk. Lucy was feeling dizzy and she wanted to throw up. She immediately started walking home. She was almost home when a car ran her over. As soon as this happened, she lost consciouness.

Because of this she was in hospital. While she was thinking about the previous night, her mother came in the room and, after she hugged Lucy, she punished her because she had drunk too much. But Lucy was happy. She was injured and punished for almost a month, but at least she was alive.

The damage that caused a natural disaster

When Lucy woke up in hospital it took her a while to piece together where she was and why she was there.

She had woken up and she saw that there were middle-age girls with white coats working, then she realized that she was in the hospital. A nurse told her that she had been at home when the terrible hurricane and the torrential rain had happened. Lucy was very injured. As the nurse was explaining what happened, Lucy remembered that she saw how the wind was breaking everything.

When Lucy saw the powerful wind breaking everything it could, she immediately started running, but the wind was so potent and so fast that she fell down and different pieces of brick fell on her body. She didn’t remember anything else because she became unconscious.

After all this happened, a lot of people appeared to help as soon as they could and they carried all the injured people to the hospital. In the end, nobody died but all the injured people were very scared.

Tagliatella

Last friday I went to the Tagliatella. It is a great restaurant where you can eat lots of types of pasta. It is located in the centre of San Sebastian near the Buen Pastor cathedral. When I went in, as I expected, there where lots of people and it had an outstanding smell. the staff iwas very nice and the decor is really confortable.

The food it is great. There are lots of types of pasta like spaghetti and caneloni. As a boy who likes fast food I have to say that the meal was very formal but the food was delicious.

I would recommend going to someone who likes italian restaurants. I would say that is the best I have ever tried.

My best journey

In March of 2013 I went with my basketball team to play a tournament in Salou. We made the journey by bus and it was really hilarious because we were singing all the time.

We spent five days in Salou. The weather there was perfect but the best thing was the atmosphere. All the hotel was busy with basketball and football teams which play their tournament. In the hotel we had rooms of three and honestly, we didn't sleep too much because every night we went to different rooms to have fun.

We didn't win the tournament but we got a good place, the second position. Like our coach said, ‘we went there to have fun and a good time, not only to win the tournament’ and we did that. We had an absolutely outstanding time with all the club.

I'd love to do that trip again.

USATEGIETA RESTAURANT

I had always wanted to go to Usategieta restaurant. The first time was when we celebrated my grandparents' golden wedding.

The restaurant is located in Oiartzun but the way to get there is not very accessible. It is a really huge restaurant with very beautiful views.

The food is quite traditional and good quality but it is also overpriced. The staff are absolutely friendly and thoughtful and you do not need to wait for a long time for your food. They serve it really fast. The decoration is a mix of the rustic and the modern. It is not a common mix but it is pleasing to the eye.

The main drawback of this restaurant is that in winter if it rains you cannot be in the garden because there is no covered area.

On the whole, I would really recommend going there because it is an absolutely fabulous and wonderful place.

An ice film

Today I went to see Disney's Frozen. I'd put off watching it because it's only being shown here dubbed, but the combination of its continued release (and thus popularity, including with children in some of my other classes) and a couple of viral videos convinced me to give it a go.

The first of the latter was this multilingual version of the headline song Let It Go (which has now won the Oscar for Best Song), which I became aware of thanks to an episode of the Fine Brothers' Kids React series. (You can tell that I watch a lot of their videos!)

The second was this homemade (well, car-made) video entitled Good Looking Parents Sing Disney's Frozen in which they perform Love Is an Open Door, perhaps the film's next most prominent song. While they are indeed good-looking, I find it rather self-centred of them to describe themselves as such, since they are the ones who uploaded the video.

The couple, who as you can see seem to be far more into the film than their young daughter, are in fact not singing but lip-synching, although they do do it extremely well. It's great that they are such fun parents for their children, but perhaps not so great that the husband frequently takes his eyes off the road and at a couple of points both his hands off the steering wheel. Worst of all, the wife bizarrely seems to have her seatbelt behind her back! Perhaps ominously, the couple who sing the song in the film (highlight the following text for a spoiler) turn out not to really be in love.

I normally loathe dubbing (films in foreign languages are always subtitled in Great Britain, as well as in Poland where I have also lived), but it does not seem so bad for cartoons. On top of that, the first video made me feel reassured that they had made a lot of effort to do it well, and the React version that it was for a good reason (for kids all round the world to be able to enjoy and sing the songs). I read the plot synopsis when I got home and was glad that I hadn't missed any details; I also watched a couple of the songs and had actually enjoyed them more in Spanish. Neverthless, I still feel that it would better for Spain and the Basque Country to end dubbing, at least for films aimed at adults and teenagers.

Anyway, I really liked the film as a bit of escapism. The characters, especially Elsa (the Snow Queen) are more developed and complex than in most Disney offerings. It also has a good message of balacing self-sacrifice with being true to oneself. Best of all, it sets a good example for little girls as there are two heroines who (again, scroll over the following text for a spoiler) save each other in sisterly solidarity rather than relying on a Prince Charming to rescue them. I guess that most of the class may not be into this sort of animation at the moment but, trust me, it's only a few short years between childhood and enjoying them again as an adult.

Selfie-important or selfie-confident?

Here's another of the Fine Brothers' React series, centred around one of the most prominent new words of recent years, selfie (as the video says, the Oxford English Dictionary Word of the Year 2013, edging out twerk), and whether taking them is conceited.

This video is slighly topical for me because it features Maisie Williams from Game of Thrones (which I've never seen or for that matter read, but which everyone seems to recommend). I was standing next to her at a Dublin International Film Festival party the other weekend while a friend of mine who was in a film with her was talking to her, but I couldn't be bothered to speak to her myself.

Anyway, back on track: I've been a proponent of selfies since long before the term existed as, with rare exceptions such as my profile photo here, I'm the only person I trust to take photographs of me. With the exponential rise of smartphones there has been an explosion in selfies. One's gut reaction might well be that this is indicative of narcissism, egocentricty or attention-seeking, but is that necessarily true?

No one else decides a person's words for them, so why shouldn't each individual be at least a significant contributor to their own photographic record? Isn't it in fact healthier for them to choose when they look the best (whether that means hottest or most displaying their true soul) rather than for someone else to tell them?

Of course it's abhorrently tedious and vapid to upload an endless stream of selfies to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, but perhaps some good autobiographical shots can support someone's self-esteem or give them a smile once they reach old age.

SPORTING HEROES

Everybody knows how difficult a famous person’s life is. It's clear that those difficult and sometimes exhausting lives of those people are because of the success they have
achieved during their lives. I really think sporting heroes should try to be good role models due to the fact that lots of people know them.

On one hand, we may agree on the conflictive conduct sporting heroes might have at some specific moments, as we may have in our lives. The fact of being a well known person may make them feel stuck-up that why sometimes they don't show the correct role model. But occasionallythat may be acceptable.

On the other hand, we must say that those people must be conscious of what they are going to turn out to be for lots of people when they decide to go ahead in their sporting career. They must be clear about that above everything, they have to respect everybody and also demonstrate the right role owing to the fact that they are always in front of the public. Therefore they have to show responsible behaviour.

To sum up, once you have decided to make your life public, you have to take over every kind of responsibility, such as a good behaviour, which could sometimes be difficult to manage but  you must succeed in it too, apart from succeeding in the sporting career.

El Bulli

El Bulli is quite a small restaurant situated in Bera Bera, in the sports club Atletico San Sebatian.

Talking about the staff, the employees are quite young, between twenty an thirty years. I know one of them, Pablo. I know him a couple of yeras ago, because I had some tennis lessons and he was the coach.

They serve diferent varietis of food. They also serve Mexican food, which I love. The atmosphere is really friendly. I could say that it's like a family atmosphere.

On the other hand, the food and some drinks are quite expensive, and sometimes you have to wait for more tha an hour to get a table. But personally I think that it's a great restaurant.

An unexpected journey

It was a sunny Saturday, so I decided to go to the beach with Julen, my neighbour. It expected to have a great day.

We had breakfast together, took our bikes and went to the beach. While we were riding, we heard a strange scream. It was an old woman who was crying, so we tried to help her. She started to explain that she couldn't find her child. Julen and I started to look for him, and fortunately we found the child, which was quite near.

Sporting heroes should try to be good role models

It is often said that every sport hero should behave properly, because a lot of people look up to them. In addition, they actually have a lot of money which makes them even more popular.

From my point of view, they should try behaving properly because many people admire them and how they cope with all the pressure or even how they work and strain in every match. Many people are influenced by them, which should make them be socially responsible. Therefore, if they give money to charity, as some of them do, they encourage people to do the same.

However, it is also true that they have right to live their own private life. Although a lot of people look up to them, they have the choice of living without the pressure that everyone will do what they do.

To sum up, like everybody, they are people, so they need to live their private life. Apart from this, as they know that a lot of people follow their steps, they have to do the right things.

La Perla

La Perla is the renowed restaurant situated by la Concha beach. I have known it since I as a child due to my uncle, who is the boss of the loucal I think it is absolutely good value for money.

The meals, they offer you a large variety of dishes. They have got food from all over the world so you can taste different flavours which surely you wouldn't have tried before. It helped me to get use to different types of food when I had to travel abroad.

Concerning the staff, a lot of young people work there and, as they are from different places all around the world, they are able to deal with everyone perfectly. Moreover, they are highly qualified people so they can inform you about any dubpt you may have about the way the dishes are prepared.

The prices are not expensive. What is more, they are low compared it the quality of the food. It is good value for money, actually.

The atmosphere is friendly. So apart from enjoying the food, you may enjoy the company of the person you are sitting next to.

Despite all these advantages, on the other hand, it is something crowed so you may not feel comfortable among all those people.

I think La Perla may be the perfect place to enjoy your free time, while you are having tea and speaking with new friends that you have recently met. I would strongly recommend it to everyone.

Sporting heroes should try to be good role models

Should sporting heroes try to be good role models? I don't think so. Being honest, it's true that most people act like famous people do, in this case sporting heroes, and it's just because most people want to be like them. If they did a good thing like helping other people may be lots of people would copy them.

However, we usually don't think that they are normal people; we usually think that they are gods. But really they aren't and to a simple person it's impossible to act well the whole day, so that's why I think they shouldn't try to be a model to be followed, because in the end anybody has mistakes that shouldn't be used as role models.

Finally I would like to add that some sport heroes really try to be an example to everyone, but almost always they get money from that. Nevertheless if they hadn't earned money from that they likely wouldn't have done it.

Sporting heroes should try to be good role models

It is often said that you can't do perfectly all things you try at first, in many kinds of sports such as ice skating, ballet or rhythmic gymnastics. In basketball for example, if you are a lucky person you can score a basket the first time you try it.

Some people think that being good at doing something is more important than being a kind person, but I think they are wrong. To be a successful person is as important to be good at it as being a good person. If a famous has bad manners either children or adults would look how they act and they would do the same things that they idol do.

On the other hand they should do whatever they want because never is going to be a person who please everyone. There are a lot of famous people who help the other by giving a bit of their money, clothes or food and this is so good. All people should act like this and not only famous people.

To my mind no one is perfect and also the kindest person of the world could make a very huge mistake. I think that if you strive sooner or later you will succeed and that after the failure comes the victory.

Sporting heroes should try to be good role models

In today's world, the person who is a sporting hero has to cause a good impresion apart off being good at the sports they play.

People, as well as admiring the way they play, bear the clothes they wear, the friends they have, the way they speak and what they think in mind. They try to imitate everything they do and because of that if they do something inappropiate the followers will copy it so they have to be careful.

However, some sporting heroes, for example Pau Gasol, realise the benefits of working with charitly and children with problems. They are a good influence for the followers because they show that they use money to help people and not only for themselves.

To sum up, they are normal people with their good and bad things like everybody. They must act normally we are nobody to say how they have to act they know it well.

Sporting heroes should try to be good role models

In our community, people need role models to have someone who sends the ideas and manners of being a sportsman and it needs to be honest and well educated person, not a dirty and bad competitor.

In the world of sports, almost fairly enough sportsman's aren`t a good example of being role models. To be a role model you need to be honest, not to have stupid manner with the opponents. For top athletes    sometimes is very difficult because they`re envolved in lots of pressure and they can do thing which they weren´t supposed to do it in a normal situation.

I think that Iker Casillas is a brilliant role model. He is always nice with  his opponents, always tries to play good matches and is very honest. People sometimes support footballers who are good, but aren´t role models and are always quarreling. I think that those ones who play sports and they only want to earn money and be bad models for young people who watch them should leave playing.

To sum up, I think you need to do something wrong for afterward can become role model, if not, I think something is going wrong.

Sporting heroes should try to be good role models

It's known that athlets always try to do their best, but they also try to be good role models. One of the most important reasonsis that if a young child sees for example Mario Balotelli ( an Italian football player) hitting his girlfriend, like Seferovic (a player of Real Sociedad) did some weeks ago... That isn't a great influence for young children, that's why sports heroes have to try to be idols.

On the other hand everybody knows that it's almost impossible to be a good person all the time. We are humans and everyone could make a mistake. Talking about that, there are two types of mistakes: 1- There are some mistakes that are very important, for example Asier Illarramendi (a player of Real Madrid)  was at Zarautz in the carnival and he dodged a heifer, which is forbidden. He apologised and he had to pay some money because of dodging. 2- There are some mistakes that have an enormous impact, for example Seferovic hit his girlfriend two weeks ago, and he slept in  comissary, as consequence, Real Sociedad has oblied him to pay an enormous compessation to his girlfriend, and he is punished in the club and in the national team of Switzerland.

To finish, we have to understand that it's very difficult to be an angel in a way, and that everyone makes some mistakes during life.

Sporting heroes should try to be good role models

It is often said that sports heroes, apart from doing their best in competition, have to behave as good people, kind and sportsmanlike.

It is clear that if someone is famous, it is necessary to cause a good impression. In the world of sport, this is a really important fact. This is because people, especially children, usually try to imitate the things that the sports role model does.

On the other hand, sports people find it very difficult to always have good conduct. Being a good person all the time could be very tired. Therefore, many sportsmen and women make bad actions to relax themselves, such as drinking too much alcohol or going to parties every night.

To conclude, it is true that sporting heroes should try not to do bad things but at the same time we have to understand that sometimes it is difficult to deal with fame and it is normal that, occasionally, they make inappropriate actions.

Sporting heroes should try to be good role models

Nowadays, it is often argued that lots of people have a sporting hero who they like a lot. Some of these heroes do interesting things to help people who have difficulties, problems or illness but others, in spite of having a lot of money, do not do anything.

Young people and teenagers often have a sport athlete idol that is very good in sport. In many cases, these teenagers do the same things that these kinds of athletes do. For example, they buy the same cleats, and the same shirt, and they try to copy the same things they do.

On the other hand, a good thing that some of these athletes have is that football players like Cristiano Ronaldo and Iker Casillas help people who do not have much money, or have an illness or problems. These kinds of football players are good role models because in this way, they show what kind of people they are.

In few words, in my opinion, these kinds of people should try to do good things because there are lots of teenagers or young people who do the same things they do.

Sporting heroes should try to be good role models

Recently, the idea that successful athlets have to behave in a good way has been widely debated in our local community.

Nowadays, we can see that not every sporting heroe is a good role model. In the world of sport, athlets find it very difficult to behave like everyone would want them to behave like. It is imposible to do everything perfectly but it has always been said that they should try to do it. There are examples in many areas which show that athlets are always criticised.

On the other hand, it is clear that they should do whatever they think because they can not please everyone. However, because of this, people find them as if they were bad role models.

To sum up, there is no doubt in my mind that sporting heroes must be theirselves, not just what others want them to be or to act like. So, although I can see both points of view, I must admit that that statement is, to my mind, not completely true.

an unexpected journey

I was going to have a great vacation on Rome I would see lots of churches and cathedrals. The first aim was to go to the Vatican to see the saint petro’s vasilica. When I was on the plane not only I was also sitting next to a fat guy I was sitting in front of an annoying crying babe.

When I got to the station the airport it was so crowded that I couldn’t takemy luggage in time and someone took it. Imagine how happy I felt when I realized that my luggage was miss.

On that holiday I was not able meet unexpected people or get lost round the amazing streets of Rome. I feel so disappointed that I couldn’t enjoy my holiday there.

My unforgettable journey

At first, I thought that the journey was`t going to be anything interesting or out of the normality, but when I was waiting to board on the plane, which I was taking for going to Ireland, I saw a friend I did far ago in a summer camp.

He told me that he was going to Dublin in the same plane as me, we looked the ticket looking for the seat number and we were next to each other! After boarding I told him that I was going to the center of Dublin, but he was going to a town 30 km from it.

Finally, we spoke for a long time until we landed  to the airport of Dublin. We were going to see each other again the day we were leaving Dublin but it was`t enough for us because we are very friends and whenever we are together we have fun and we also have a really good time.
